Prawns Patia (Kolmi-no-patio)
Ingredients (for 3 servings):
- Prawns - 250 gms
- Onions - 3
- Tomatoes - 2
- Curry leaves - 10
- Kashmiri Chillies - 2
- Green Chillies - 2-3
- Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Ginger paste - 1 tsp
- Corriander - 1/2 Cup
- Potatoes (Cut into 1 inch cubes) - 2
- Spices -
Tumeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Dhanajeera Powder - 1 tsp
Sambhar Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to Taste
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Oil - 5 tbsp
- Marinate the prawns with all the powder spices and salt for 1/2-1 hr.
- Add oil in a utensil , heat it and add finely chopped garlic and green chillies , crush the kashmiri chillies and add cumin seeds and curry leaves.
- Let it fry for 2 minutes and add finely chopped onions.
- After the onions turn golden-brown , add finely chopped tomatoes to it.
- After the tomatoes soften , add ginger paste and sugar to it and let it cook for 5 mins.
- Add the marinated prawns and the potato cubes to it and let it cook for 5 minutes after which add a glass of water and let it cook till the potatoes soften.
- Just before turning off the stove , add finely chopped corriander leaves to it.
