Eeda Chutney nu Pattice (Egg and Chutney Pattice)
Eeda chutney nu pattice is a dish which is the favourite of most Parsis that
can be had with just about anything , be it a dal or a vegetable (or just by
itself as a snack) which is simple to make and really delicious ! Prepare it
this way and you'll love it! Here's its recipe :
Ingredients for Green Chutney (for 6 Pattice) :
- Corriander - 1 Small Bunch
- Mint Leaves - 1 Small Bunch
- Thick Green Chillies - 4-5
- Lemon -1
- Garlic - 3-4 Cloves
- Curd - 1/2 Cup
- Coconut - 1/2
- Sugar - 1 Tsp
- Salt to Taste
Ingredients for Pattice :
- Potatoes - 3-4
- Pepper as required
- Salt
- Eggs - 5
- Coarse Semolina (Jada Rava) / Bread Crumbs - 1/2 Cup
- Oil - Enough to deep fry
Method :
- Begin by making the chutney first. Add all the ingredients of the chutney to the mixer and grind it till it becomes a smooth paste.
- For making the pattice , boil the potatoes and mash them.
- Add salt and pepper to it.
- Boil 3 eggs and cut them into halves.
- Take half an egg , coat it with a thick layer of chutney and add a thick layer of potato over the layer of chutney . Make sure the thickness of the potato layer is double the layer of chutney.
- Coat it with a layer of rava / bread crumbs .
- Repeat the procedure with the other eggs halves too.
- Leave them aside for 10 minutes.
- Beat the remaining 2 eggs in a bowl and add salt and pepper to it.
- Add oil to a pan and heat it on high flame. After the oil is hot enough , dip each pattice in eggs , coating it thoroughly and put it in the pan and fry them on medium flame till they are golden brown on all sides.
