Tandoori Chicken
Here is a recipe of Tandoori Chicken which is made without using a tandoor or an oven , yet tastes similar to the tandoori chicken served in hotels.

Ingredients (3 Servings) :

  • Powdered Spices - Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 tsp , Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp , Dhanajeera Powder - 1 Tsp , Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 Tbsp
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Curd (Dahi) - 1/2 Cup
  • Oil
Method :
  • Take 1 Tbsp oil in a plate and add all the ingredients except chicken and mix well.
  • Put light cuts on each piece of chicken on both sides and marinate them with the mixture.
  • Either refrigerate them overnight or at least marinate them for around 30 minutes.
  • Heat 1-2 Tbsp oil in a non-stick pan and fry the chicken on both sides till the chicken is cooked halfway.
  • Take a baking wire stand and put it on the stove. Put the half-cooked chicken pieces on it and cook them on direct flame till they completely done on both sides .
  • While the chicken is being cooked , take a small piece of coal and heat it for around 15-20 minutes.
  • Put all chicken pieces in a plate in a way that there is space in between for the coal utensil.
  • Place the burning coal in a tiny utensil and put it in centre of the plate as shown in the picture and immediately pour 1 tsp ghee over the coal and immediately cover it tightly with another plate. Leave it for 5-7 minutes.
  • Now , open the plate and remove the coal utensil.
