Methi Malai Matar
Methi Malai Matar is an Indian dish , commonly served at restaurants. It is a healthy as well as tasty dish since methi is a leafy vegetable. Have a look at its recipe.
Ingredients (3-4 Servings) :
- Big Methi - 2-3 Bunches
- Green Peas - 250 g
- Coriander Leaves - 1 Cup
- Onions - 3-4
- Tomatoes - 1
- Green Chillies - 2-3
- Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp
- Garlic - 8-10 Cloves
- Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 1/2 Tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Sugar - 1 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 4-5 Tbsp
- Fresh Cream (Malai) - 2-3 Tbsp / Milk - 1/2 Cup
Method :
- Heat oil in a Kadhai , add finely chopped garlic and finely chopped green chillies to it.
- Now , add finely chopped onions to it and fry them till they turn soft and pink.
- Add finely chopped tomatoes to it.
- Now, add sugar, salt and ginger paste to it and fry it for 2-3 minutes.
- Add Kashmiri Chilli Powder and Turmeric Powder to it and fry it for another minute.
- Add Finely chopped Methi leaves coriander leaves and green peas , mix it thoroughly , cover it with a lid and let it cook till done.
- Add fresh cream/milk 5 minutes before turning off the stove, stirring it continuously.
