Irani restaurant style omlette

It is a mild flavoured omelette without using any Indian powdered spices and this really helps to make the taste of caramelised onions stand out. The recipe I am sharing here is how omelette is generally served at the Irani restaurants. It is a perfect healthy and tasty breakfast. Have a look at its recipe.

Ingredients (4 Servings) :

  • Eggs - 4
  • Green Chillies - 2-3
  • Onions - 1-2
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 Tsp
  • Sugar - 1 Tsp
  • Oil - 2-3 Tbsp
Method :
  • Heat oil in a utensil and add finely chopped green chillies and onions to it.
  • Crack the eggs into a bowl , add salt and pepper to it and beat it vigorously till it becomes frothy.
  • Once the onions soften, add sugar to it and let it cook till they turn brownish.
  • Now pour the beaten eggs evenly all over the brown onions. 
  • Let it fry without the lid till the omelette is cooked well on the lower side. Now, flip it to the other side and cover the utensil and cook till the omelette is done.
Tip - It tastes best with Pumpkin sauce or tomato ketchup.
