Mutton Kheema Kebabs

 

Kebabs are universally loved by all as starters or as side servings with a main course dish. In this particular recipe, we will show you how to make best Mutton Kheema Kebabs. It tastes best with Dhansak. Kebabs can be made in various ways. It can be taken as a packed meal for travelling or for children's tiffin boxes, by putting a kebab between slices of bread. It can be dipped in tomato ketchup or in mint chutney. Let us have a look at its recipe.


Ingredients (12-13 Pieces) :
  • Mutton Kheema - 350 g
  • Onions - 1 (Big)
  • Bread - 3-4 Slices (Can use 1 medium-sized boiled potato instead of bread)
  • Green Chillies - 2-3
  • Gram Flour (Besan) - 2-3 Tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/2 Cup
  • Curry Leaves - 2 Stems
  • Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic - 5-6 Cloves
  • Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp
  • Egg -1 
  • Powdered Spices - Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 Tsp, Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp, Dhanajeera powder - 1 Tsp, Sambhar powder -  1/2 Tsp, Garam Masala powder - 1 Tsp
  • Salt to Taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Coarse Semolina (rava) - Optional
Method :
  • Moisten the bread with water and squeeze off the excess water.
  • Mix it with the mutton kheema.
  • Add finely chopped garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves, curry leaves, onions, gram flour, cumin seeds, black pepper powder, ginger paste and powdered spices to it and mix it well using your hand.
  • Break an egg and mix it again.
  • Leave it aside for around half an hour.
There are 2 ways of making it. 1 way is by coating it with coarse semolina and the other way is to not coat it at all and fry it. We have made it without the coarse semolina coating.
  • Make small balls and flatten them. 
  • Heat the oil on high flame and when it gets very hot, slide in the kebabs one by one and let it cook on low flame till both sides are done. It takes roughly 20 minutes for both sides to be cooked.
