Palak Paneer
Palak Paneer is an Indian dish popular all over India which is served at every
restaurant serving Mughlai dishes. It is very healthy since palak is a a leafy
vegetable. Let us have a look at its recipe.
Ingredients (3-4 Servings) :
- Palak - 2 Bunches
- Paneer - 200 g
- Onions - 3
- Tomato - 1
- Green Chillies - 2
- Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp
- Garlic - 1 bulb
- Curry Leaves - 2 stems
- Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1 Tbsp
- Sugar - 1 Tbsp
- Tomato Ketchup - 1-2 Tbsp
- Powdered Spices - Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp, Turmeric powder - 1/2 Tsp, Dhanajeera Powder -1 tsp, Garam Masala powder - 1 Tsp
- Coriander Leaves - 2 Cups
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 4-5 Tbsp
- Juice of 1/2 Lemon
- Fresh Cream/ Grated Paneer
- Soak palak in hot water for 4-5 minutes and then take it out.
- Let it cool down and then mix it in a mixer (without any water) till it is mixed thoroughly.
- Heat oil in a utensil and add finely chopped garlic, cumin seeds and finely chopped green chillies to it. Fry them till the garlic turns brownish.
- Add finely chopped onions and curry leaves to it and cook them till they are soft.
- Add sugar, salt and ginger paste to it and fry them for around 2-3 minutes.
- Add finely chopped tomato to it and cook it till it is soft.
- Now, add the powdered spices to it and fry them till the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the palak mixture and tomato ketchup to it, mix it thoroughly and let it cook for 15 minutes.
- Add finely chopped coriander leaves and pieces of paneer to it and cook it for another 5-7 minutes.
- After turning off the stove, add lemon juice to it. Mix it and garnish it with either fresh cream or with grated paneer.
