Chicken Cheese Cutlets
Chicken Cheese Cutlets are not only the perfect evening snack option but can also be had as an accompaniment with lunch or dinner. The broken vermicelli coating gives it a crispy & crunchy texture. It tastes best when served hot. Let us have a look at its recipe.
Ingredients (6 pieces):
- Chicken - 500 g (Boneless)
- Potatoes - 3 (medium-sized)
- Onion - 1
- Cheese Cubes - 3
- Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
- Green Chillies - 3-6 (according to size)
- Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
- All-purpose flour (maida) - 2 heaped tbsp
- Broken Vermicelli - 1 cup
- Coarse Semolina (Jaada Rava) - 1-2 tbsp
- Egg - 1-2
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
- Boiled eggs - 2 (Optional)
- Boil the potatoes and chicken separately. Once done, mash the potatoes and shred the chicken. Mix the two.
- Add finely chopped onions and green chillies and add them to the mixture.
- Add ginger paste, black pepper powder, all-purpose flour, grated cheese cubes, salt, grated boiled eggs (optional) to the mixture and mix it thoroughly with your hands. Avoid mixing with a spoon for better results.
- Let it rest for around 30 minutes.
- Beat the eggs in another utensil, adding a bit of salt, black pepper powder and 2 tbsp water to it.
- Mix coarse semolina and broken vermicelli in another utensil.
- Make equal portions out of the chicken mixture and coat them with the vermicelli-semolina mixture. Now, dip them one by one in the beaten eggs and fry them in a pan (you can either deep fry them or shallow fry them as per your convenience) till they turn golden-brown.
Tip: It can served hot with tomato ketchup, green chutney or cheesy dips.
