Dried Prawns Pickle
Ingredients:
- Dried Prawns: 150-200g
- Onions: 3
- Kashmiri Red Chillies: 15
- Cumin Seeds (Jeera): 1 tbsp
- Garlic: 2 whole bulbs
- Grated Ginger: 1 tsp
- Garam Masalas: Cinamon (Tej) - 2 inch piece, Cloves (Laung) - 5-6, Peppercorn - 10, Green Cardamom (Chhoti Elaichi) - 3
- Sugarcane Vinegar: 3-4 tbsp
- Sugar: 2 tbsp
- Oil: 100-150 ml
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Grind all ingredients (except the prawns, vinegar and oil) in a mixer.
- Soak the dried prawns in vinegar for 1-5 hours.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and add the dried prawns to it. Let it fry for 5-10 minutes.
- Add the ground paste to it. Let it cook till the oil separates from the paste. This mayy take 30-45 minutes.
- Let it cool and store it in a dry glass jar.
Tip: You can add Red Chilli powder if you want to make it more spicy.
