Puri Bhaji
Puri Bhaji is a tasty Indian dish which can be had as a breakfast item as well as a lunch/dinner item , depending on the appetite of the individual. All potato lovers are sure to enjoy having it. Let us have a look at it's recipe !
Ingredients for Potato Bhaji (3 servings) :
- Potatoes - 6
- Curry Leaves - 3 stems
- Onions - 3
- Cumin Seeds - 1 Tbsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1 Tbsp
- Green chillies - 3
- Garlic - 6-8 Cloves
- Asafoetida - 1-2 Pinches
- Dry Mango (Amchur) Powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Sugar - 1 Tsp
- Salt to Taste
- Oil - 5-6 Tbsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Method for Potato Bhaji :
- Peel the Potatoes and pressure cook them till they are 3/4th done.
- Heat oil in a utensil , add finely chopped garlic , finely chopped green chillies , cumin seeds , mustard seeds , asafoetida and curry leaves to it.
- Add finely chopped onions and cook them till they are golden-brown.
- Add sugar , salt and turmeric powder and fry them for 2 minutes.
- Add the par boiled potatoes and mix it with the onion mixture and cook it till the potatoes are absolutely soft.
- Mash them a little bit so that the flavour gets absorbed and it's good to serve !

Tip - Puri Bhaji tastes good with sliced/chopped onions and lemon.
