Fish Patio (Lagan Style)
Fish Patio is a dish which is only served as a lunch item at Parsi weddings ,
Navjots etc. It is easy-to-cook , yet extremely tasty. It is often had
with Dhan Dal

Ingredients (3-4 Servings) :
- Onions - 3
- Garlic - 8 Cloves
- Tomatoes - 2
- White Sesame Seeds - 1 Tbsp
- Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1 Tbsp
- Green Chillies - 2
- Kashmiri Chillies - 4-5
- Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp
- Desiccated Coconut Powder (Khaman) - 1 Tbsp
- Sugar - 3 Tbsp
- Jaggery - 4-5 Tbsp
- Black Sugarcane Vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- Fish - 6-7 Pieces
- Tamarind - 2 inch Piece
- Milk - 1/2 Cup
- Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Dhanajeera Powder - 1 Tsp
- Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Whole Garam Masalas - Cinamon Stick (Tej) - 2 inches , Green cardamom (Chhoti Elaichi) - 4-5 , Black Pepper - 7-8 , Cloves (Laung) - 5-6
- Oil - 5-6 Tbsp
- Salt to Taste
Method :
- Heat oil in a utensil and add the whole Garam Masalas , garlic , cumin seeds , green chillies , Kashmiri Chillies , sesame seeds and desiccated coconut to it and fry for 3-5 minutes.
- Add roughly chopped onions , tomatoes , ginger paste , sugar and tamarind and fry them till the onions and tomatoes become reasonably soft.
- Let the mixture cool down and grind it to a smooth paste in a mixer with milk in it.
- Marinate the fish with salt , turmeric powder and Kashmiri chilli powder.
- Fry the ground paste for about 10 minutes and make it thinner to the desired consistency by adding water to it and bring it to a boil.
- Add jaggery , black sugarcane vinegar and boil them for 5 minutes and add the marinated fish to it and cook it till the fish is done.
