Bhindi Batata Fry
Bhindi Batata Fry , also known as Sookhi Bhindi ki Sabzi or Aloo Bhindi Fry ,
is a Maharashtrian dish which is very easy to make . It is a combination of
lady fingers / Okra and potatoes. The dish , if cooked properly , can taste
good inspite of the minimum amount of ingredients added to it. As it is a dry
dish , it can be very convenient to carry it and eat it while travelling. Let
us have a look at its recipe .
Ingredients (3-4 Servings) :
- Lady Finger - 750 g
- Potatoes - 2-3
- Mustard Seeds (Rai) - 1 Tbsp
- Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1 Tbsp
- Dry Mango Powder (Amchur Powder) - 1 Tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp
- Salt to Taste
- Oil - 5-6 Tbsp
Method :
- Heat oil in a utensil (Preferably a Kadhai) and add mustard seeds , cumin seeds , dry mango powder , turmeric powder and fry for a few seconds.
- Cut lady finger and potatoes to the desired size and add it to the fried mixture.
- Mix it thoroughly and cook it till it is done.
- After turning off the stove , add salt to it. (This step is necessary so that the lady finger doesn't get sticky).
