Bhaji Dana
Bhaji Dana is a delicious and very healthy dish that can be had either as a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian dish as per your preference. Methi being a leafy vegetable has a lot of health benefits and is an excellent vegetable for those suffering from high sugar levels. Even though Methi is considered a bitter vegetable, if you make it as per this recipe, you will relish it. Let us have a look at its recipe.


Ingredients (3 Servings) :
  • Small Methi - 40 bundles
  • Onions - 4-5
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 medium-sized bundle
  • Garlic - 10-12 cloves
  • Ginger Paste - 1 Tsp
  • Green Chillies - 2-3
  • Green Peas - minimum 250 g
  • Tomato - 1 
  • Sugar - 1 1/2 Tbsp
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 6-7 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Method :

  • Heat oil in a utensil and add finely chopped garlic to it till it turns brownish.
  • Now add finely chopped green chillies and onions to it.
  • Meanwhile cut the roots from the methi and wash it thoroughly at least 3 times, till it is free from the sand.
  • Chop them finely and keep aside.
  • Now, wash and chop the coriander leaves in the same manner.
  • Once the onions turn golden-brown, add sugar, salt and ginger paste to it. Fry it for a minute and add finely chopped tomato to it.
  • In the meanwhile, peel the green peas from the pods.
  • Once the tomato softens, add turmeric powder and Kashmiri Chilli powder to it.
  • Add green peas to it and let it cook for around 5 minutes.
  • Now, add the finely chopped methi leaves and coriander leaves to it and let them cook till the green peas are done.  

  • Tips - Avoid overcooking the Bhaji to the point it turns dark. 
        To make Bhaji par Eedu, just break eggs over it with a little salt and cook till the eggs are done, covering the lid.
         To make Bhaji Dana ma Gosht, pressure cook the mutton with a little bit of ginger paste and salt and add it to the Bhaji Dana.
